Rich Bernardy, Managing Partner

Mr. Bernardy has over 25 years of banking and finance, management and entrepreneurial experience. He has managed M1 Energy since October 2006 where he provides advisory and consulting services to upstream, midstream, and downstream energy companies. Previously, he co-founded NGP Capital Resources Company and worked at Deutsche Bank, Bank of America and Continental Bank where his focus over twenty years had been the origination and management of oil and gas investment programs for the upstream and midstream energy sector. His experience includes project and structured finance, private equity, debt securities, sponsorship of equity investments, financial risk management accounting, forecasting and capital budgeting. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was a member of the founding management team, serving as Senior Vice President of USBuild.com Corporation involved in all aspects of the financial management of the company including capital raising from venture capitalists and industry partners. He has an MBA from Depaul University and a BS from Northern Illinois University.

Daniel Schockling, Managing Director

Mr. Schockling has approximately 17 years of banking, investing, and finance experience. Previously, he worked for NGP Capital Resources Company where he had various responsibilities including originating, evaluating, structuring, and managing investments in all segments of the energy industry. Additionally, his background includes energy lending, leveraged finance, corporate finance and valuation experience, primarily in the energy industry, with institutions including FleetBoston, Deutsche Bank, Houlihan Lokey, and Bank of America. Mr. Schockling has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Finance from the University of South Florida, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida (license currently inactive).

Bryan Wagner, Associate

Mr. Wagner has over 10 years of experience as a financial analyst in multiple industries including oil and gas, commercial real estate, and commercial banking. He is responsible for financial modeling and assists in acquisition analysis and research. Prior, he worked for Hines where he was involved in $5.7 billion of commercial real estate acquisitions. Mr. Wagner also worked at Provident Bank as a Senior Financial Analyst and at Arthur Andersen in their Audit and Business Advisory Services group. Throughout his career he has generated complex financial models for the purposes of acquisitions, liquidity management, budgeting and forecasting. Mr. Wagner received his degree in finance and accounting at the University of Kentucky.

Christina Garaghty, Associate - Marketing & Operations

Ms. Garaghty is responsible for M1 Energy's office management, client and corporate marketing materials and client marketing coordination. She actively assists in research and evaluation. Prior, she worked for PLS, Inc. in a variety of roles including research/editing and client services. Prior to PLS, Inc, Ms. Garaghty worked as a high school English teacher. Ms. Garaghty holds a BS degree in Business Administration from University of Wisconsin-Stout.
